Timing is crucial when applying for your Malaysia Digital Arrival Card. Submitting your application within the correct timeframe ensures a smooth entry process when you arrive in Malaysia.
On this page, you'll find detailed information about when to apply for your MDAC, including the earliest submission date, application deadline, and what to do in case of urgent travel.
You can submit your MDAC application up to 7 days before your planned arrival in Malaysia.
While you can apply earlier, your application will only be accepted within this 7-day window before your travel date.
Example: If you plan to arrive on March 15, the earliest you can apply is March 8.
The MDAC must be submitted at least 3 days before your planned arrival in Malaysia.
Applications submitted later than this deadline may not be processed in time, which could lead to issues upon arrival.
Example: If you plan to arrive on March 15, you must apply no later than March 12.
Standard processing typically takes 1-2 business days after submission.
During peak travel seasons or holidays, processing may take longer, which is why applying early within the 7-day window is recommended.
Tip: Apply as early as possible within the allowed timeframe to account for any potential delays.
If you need to travel to Malaysia urgently and cannot meet the 3-day advance application requirement:
Note: While exceptions may be made for genuine emergencies, there is no guarantee that you will be allowed to enter Malaysia without a properly processed MDAC.

The 3-day application deadline is in place to ensure proper processing of all MDAC applications. Whenever possible, plan your travel to Malaysia well in advance to avoid complications with your entry.
If your travel plans change after submitting your MDAC:
The MDAC is valid only for the specific travel dates indicated in your application.
If you plan to exit and re-enter Malaysia during your trip:
Plan accordingly if your itinerary includes visits to neighboring countries with returns to Malaysia.
When traveling as a group or family:
If one member of your group encounters issues with their MDAC, it could potentially affect the travel plans of the entire group.
If you encounter technical issues when applying for your MDAC:
Technical issues are not typically accepted as a reason for failing to meet the application deadline, so start the process early to allow time to resolve any problems.
The Malaysia Digital Arrival Card is a mandatory requirement for all travelers to Malaysia. Make sure to apply at least 3 days before your journey to avoid any issues upon arrival.
